About Me
As a teenager I spent several years in France and visited a French school. Even then I translated and interpreted for my parents, who hardly spoke any French.
Due my interest in natural and applied sciences, after my Abitur (university entrance exams) I went on to do a degree course in engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt.
However, having never lost my interest in other peoples and cultures, I spent part of my degree course at the escuela universitaria de ingenería técnica de la politécnica in Madrid, Spain.
During almost 10- years working as an engineer, mainly in the sales organisations of plant-engineering and environmental-technology companies, I was able to combine technology and languages right from the start and had many opportunities carry out translation and interpretation tasks: translating tender documents and quotes, supporting and translating foreign-languages brochures and even interpreting during plant commissioning or contract negotiations.
Since 2003 I have been working as a freelance specialist translator and interpreter.
My customers profit from my many years' experience and my linguistic and technical expertise.
I am a member of the Gesellschaft für Technische Kommunikation (tekom) e.V. (European Association for Technical Communication).
